Philosophy for Children (P4C) sessions are used to develop children’s thinking and communication skills, boost their self-esteem, and improve their academic attainment. Children develop their ability to reason and explore philosophical questions.
Philosophical questions give children the opportunity to deepen their thinking, reason with others and discuss as a group. In a P4C session a philosophical question will be generated and discussed; these type of questions will not have one point of view but multiple. Some examples are:
Is it ever OK to lie?
What makes you you?
Do we have to respect everyone?
Can good people do bad things?
Do we all have the same rights?
