Welcome to Arctic Fox class!
Our Class Teacher is Tash and our Teaching Assistant is Jess.
We enjoy working with our children, families and the local community to give the children many exciting learning opportunities throughout their year in Reception.
In Reception we learn through play and exploration, we enjoy independent learning time (discovery time) both inside and outside. We have carpet sessions for Phonics, Maths and English to support and build on our learning.
To find out more about the learning we will be doing during the year, have a look at our curriculum overview and timetable by clicking on the links below.
We share lots of our learning via Tapestry and encourage parents to contribute to their child’s learning journal too. This means that children can share their learning with their teachers and friends!

< lessArctic Foxes have had a busy first couple of weeks back in class!
We have enjoyed spending time in our library exploring the books together.
In English we have been learning a new story Goldilocks and the Three bears. We have been learning to orally retell the story using storytelling actions, drawing story maps for the story and sequencing events. Next week, we will be making wanted posters for Goldilocks and writing descriptions of her.
In Maths, we have been learning to recognise and describe circles and triangles. We have enjoyed spotting these shapes in our environment, sorting them, making our own circles and triangles, observing art work by Kandinsky, creating our own circle and triangle artwork and printing with 3D shapes to find which ones have circles and triangles on their faces.
In Learn Together sessions, we have been learning about Remembrance day. We enjoyed making our own poppies, writing our wishes for the future world, decorating pebbles with poppies and placing these in our sensory garden.

Article 3: The best interests of the child must be a top priority in all things that affect children.
Article 12: Every child has the right to have a say in all matters affecting them, and to have their views taken seriously.
At Mulberry Park ET we have a strong focus on collaboration, engagement and stewardship involving the children in decision making and discussions to further develop our school. Children in our school know their rights and know that as a staff we are here to listen to their views and ideas.
Our Pupil Council representatives were involved in a week long campaign and were elected onto the Council by the other children in their class. Our Pupil Council meet regularly to bring forward any suggestions, ideas or issues to Emma and our teachers.
